Frequently asked questions

How do I sign in?

Open Settings (tap the mascot in the top-left corner) and choose Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. Sign-in is only required to enable AI chat and cloud sync — the timer works without an account.

Why does AI chat need an account?

Chat messages are routed through a secure server-side proxy to the AI model. The proxy uses your account to authenticate the request and enforce a daily usage limit. Free includes 20 AI chat messages per day; Brukas Pro removes the cap. No API keys are stored on your device.

Where is my data stored?

Your focus sessions and chat messages are stored locally on your device using Apple SwiftData. They never leave your device unless you explicitly enable cloud sync in Settings. When cloud sync is on, data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS) with row-level security — only you can access it.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete Account. This permanently removes all associated data — sessions, messages, and preferences — from both the cloud and your device. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
